Suiting Palo Alto to a "T"

Steve Staiger, Historian, Palo Alto Historical Association.

The Ford Model T automobile, mass produced and affordable, changed the face of personal transportation in the United States and influenced industrial practices around the world. Historian Steve Staiger describes the impact of the Model T on Palo Alto and the world in his presentation, Suiting Palo Alto to a "T": The impact of the Ford Model T, on Thursday, July 24 at 7:30 pm in the Frank Livermore Learning Center of the Museum of American Heritage.

Several local collectors will have their Model T Fords available for inspection before and after the presentation.

The MOAH exhibit galleries, featuring Bonfires and Bugs, The Art and Science of Camping, will be open beginning at 7 p.m. and after the presentation.

Vintage Vehicles Gala

A Major Fundraiser benefiting MOAH's childrens programs and honoring Beverly and Jim Nelson for their support of the community and MOAH.

Catch a wave and sail away with MOAH on a crazy tropical trip like no other as we kick off the 2008 Vintage Vehicles and Family Festival weekend. Enjoy exotic music, dancing and live entertainment plus exciting silent and live auction treasures featuring Auctioneer Steve Player. Be part of the Tropical Tiki Celebration as we turn a car lover's Shangri-La into an urban island paradise!

Complete your MOAH weekend by attending our 5th Annual Vintage Vehicles and Family Festival on Sunday, August 3, 10 am - 4 pm at Palo Alto High School, Palo Alto. Thanks to the generosity of MOAH supporters, the Vintage Vehicles and Family Festival will again be free to the general public: All other proceeds benefit the Museum of American Heritage.

 

Vintage Vehicles & Family Festival

Save the Date!

The Museum of American Heritage and over 50 local cosponsors present the 2008 Vintage Vehicles and Family Festival, an August extravaganza of family fun and one of a kind (and rarely shown) vintage vehicles. Antique cars, classics, hot rods, bicycles, motorcycles and other fantastic transports will be on display.

Live music, entertainment, LEGO models from Bay Area LEGO User's Group, activities for kids, food booths, RC model races and radio personalities from The Broadcast Legends will provide MOAH fun in the sun.

Festivities commence at 10 a.m. on August 5 at Palo Alto High School, located across from the Town and Country Shopping Center, Embarcadero Road at El Camino in Palo Alto, and continue until 4 p.m.

 

Over 5,000 visitors viewed more than 100 vehicles at the 2007 event. 2008 attendance in excess of 5,000 visitors is anticipated.

Thanks to the generosity of MOAH supporters, the Vintage Vehicles and Family Festival will again be free to the general public, with free parking at Palo Alto High School: All other proceeds benefit the Museum of American Heritage. The Museum will be closed on Sunday, August 3, so join us at Palo Alto High for MOAH fun in the sun!
