Exhibits

The Museum of American Heritage preserves and presents the evolution of American invention. We collect, conserve and exhibit the wonderfully ingenious electrical and mechanical devices that have developed over the last two centuries. MOAH presents special theme exhibits that change every four months plus permanent exhibits depicting life and technology in the earlier part of the 20th century.

Located at 351 Homer Avenue in Palo Alto, CA, MOAH exhibits are open from 11 am to 4 pm on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, except during exhibit changeover weeks. Call MOAH at 650-321-1004 for further details. MOAH is fully accessible to people with disabilities.

Special Exhibit

Special exhibits change three times a year, and highlight artifacts from toys to typewriters to toasters. The museum sponsors special activity days highlighting relevant topics during each exhibit (see Education for details).

Permanent Exhibits

Permanent exhibits present inventions and technology of the 19th and 20th century in a series of settings typical of the era. Visitors experience the flavor of life in these earlier times as they view the artifacts of America's past.

Future and Past Exhibits

Future exhibits are selected and scheduled at least six months in advance of opening, and will be listed on the pages in this section of the web site. Descriptions and resources relevant to past special exhibits are included in the MOAH online archive.

Satellite Exhibits

In cooperation with other local organizations and institutions, MOAH has established satellite exhibits of interesting objects selected from the Museum's collection. These "Mini-MOAH" exhibits are changed periodically and circulate between sites. If your organization would like to host a MiniMOAH exhibit, contact the Executive Director at 650-321-1004.
