Thor Electric Washing Machine Company was a division of Hurley Electric Laundry Company (Chicago), also known as the Hurley Machine Company. The 1907 Thor is attributed as the first electric-powered washer. The rotating drum would have the clothes inside and rotate in the trough of soapy water.
